MN Hotdish Mix Make-and-Take Event

​Do you have an abundance of garden vegetables and limited time to get them preserved? Do you want
to learn the basics of canning in order to have healthy food year-round? Then this Make and Take class
is for you. We will prepare and process batches of MN Mix hotdish mix and you will leave with a quart of
“Hamburger Helper in a Jar” This mix is versatile, works in soups, hotdish and many dishes that your
family will love. All supplies provided. Bring a small cardboard box or fabric tote to carry your fresh hot
processed jar of MN Mix home. It will be fun and educational. We will learn the basics of water bath
canning for acidic foods along the way. Additional recipe ideas will also be provided with the class.
Cindy Nienaber from Health and Human Services will be conducting the class:

• Sprout Mn 609 13th Ave NE Door #9, Little Falls
• September 10th 6 - 8 pm
• Cost of the class is $15 for owners and $20 for non-owners
• Deadline to register is September 3rd
