Missing your fresh greens already now that the fall harvest is over? Here's your chance to learn how to grow microgreens in your own home all winter long; its easy to grow! Erin May from Wholesome Living Acres will be instructing a Microgreen Make-and-Take Class on this super food. Did you know microgreen pack 40% more phytochemicals, or beneficial nutrients and components, than fully grown plants? You will receive a starter kit and instructions about how to plant, care for your greens and harvest your microgreens along with recipe ideas.
 Before the Microgreens Make-and-Take class on December 10, Erin May from Wholesome Living Acres will also be doing a lettuce drop. Looking ahead, she's planning to have Romaine, Tropicana, kale and microgreens. What could be better than crisp, fresh greens in the cold of winter?!?!  Santa Claus is coming to town! Santa will be at the Victor Mall during the Winter Holiday Market. Bring the kids to sit on Santa's lap and share their wish list. Also, add some extra holiday fun for the kids by getting their face painted. The Purple Carrot Market – Sprout Kitchen Presents: Farm-To-Table French Cookery This fun, French-inspired class will highlight many seasonal Autumn vegetables and fruits in Minnesota, yet also showcase simple and delicious recipes reminiscent of the French Countryside. Chef Katy is excited to share traditional French knife cuts, cooking techniques, and seasoning methods used in France during Autumn that she had the privilege of learning from three classically trained chefs straight from France. The menu will include: French Onion Soup Gratinee Roasted Garlic Chicken w/ Butternut Squash and Apple Warm Kale Salad w/ French Figs, Crispy Leeks and Lardons, and an Apple Tarragon Vinaigrette Apple Clafoutis w/ Powdered Sugar Chef Katy Bio: Chef Katy grew up surrounded by Minnesota farms, orchards, and forest. Her love for food continued to grow as she began working in restaurants and attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where she received a degree in Applied Food Studies with Honors in Sustainable Food Development and Community Engagement. After school, she traveled to Canada and became a private holistic chef and served people from all walks of life. She now is a holistic food coach in Minnesota working to empower individuals in the kitchen by teaching from-scratch cooking, local purchasing, preserving, foraging, and making herbal medicine.
