The good news is Purple Carrot Market and First United Church collected 617 items total putting us well over the 500 items needed for the extra $500 in Thrivent money. The great news is Thrivent doubled the money from $500 to $1,000. The Morrison County Food Shelf will get the 617 items collected plus $1,000 to help stock their shelves for our friends and neighbors. Thank you, Pastor Tony, for partnering with us on this challenge. Pictured are staff from the Morrison County Food Shelf, First United Church Youth Group with parishioners, and the Purple Carrot Market. The holiday season is upon us. We are encouraging owners to purchase a gift ownership for that hard to buy someone or that person who seems to have it all. You will receive a special Purple Carrot Market gift ownership card to give. When you do, the sender and receiver will both get their names in a drawing for a holiday gift basket valued at $40. This Holiday Gift Ownership Promotion starts today and goes until December 31st.
The second annual European-Style Outdoor Holiday Market sponsored by the Purple Carrot Market is only a month away so mark your calendars for December 10th. Shop 20 local artisan, craft & food vendors. This event is open to the entire community to enjoy. In addition to shopping, the festivities will include a tree of lights, kids activities & carolers. Warm yourself by the wood-burning fire while sipping on a hot beverage. Stop by the Purple Carrot Market table to enter your name in a drawing to win a basket of prizes, purchase a gift ownership or become an owner. Have a little fun by wearing your craziest winter hat.
We have some good news to share! The Purple Carrot Market received a grant from the Initiative Foundation for just over $15,600 as part of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development's (DED) Main Street Economic Revitalization program.
The Purple Carrot Market applied for the grant to upgrade the boilers in our building- the next step in getting the building ready for our food co-op and for the construction documents required for us to get bids on the project. This is a HUGE step along the path to getting our store open. Thank you to the Initiative Foundation and the Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Community Development of Morrison County, and the City of Little Falls for prioritizing our project for funding! |
