Summer is Berry Season!

Summer is finally here and fresh berries are truly the taste of summer.  Berries not only taste good, but they are good for you! (How often does that happen?!?)  The Purple Carrot is offering you two opportunities to get fresh berries to enjoy now and freeze for those winter months when berries aren't so fresh or tasty.  Whether it's strawberries or blueberries, the Purple Carrot has found some delicious berries for you to enjoy.
Stone Hill Farms LLC opened their fields for pick-your-own strawberries on June 24th.  The Deyle family, owners of Stone Hill Farms, are Purple Carrot Owners #418 and they farm near Browerville.  Picking berries in Stone Hill Farms spacious strawberry fields is a great way to enjoy the beautiful summer weather with plenty of fresh air, social distance, and delicious strawberries!  These berries are so good that people line up outside the Farms gate before it opens at 8:00 a.m.  The berries are being picked almost as fast as they ripen, so you will want to check their Facebook page or give them a call at 218-296-2473 to make certain they are picking.
For nine years, Peg Urbanski, Purple Carrot Owner #416, has brought fresh picked Michigan blueberries to Central Minnesota.  Last year more than 35 Purple Carrot owners purchased berries and the feedback was unanimous:  the berries were excellent!  Now through July 19, you can order a 10 lb box of fresh blueberries and they will be ready for pick-up Tuesday, July 21st.  (The July 14th shipment is already sold out, but anyone placing an order before 5 pm on Friday, June 26 will receive berries on that shipment.)   These delicious berries cost Purple Carrot Market owners just $35/box while non-owners can purchase a box for $40/box.  (A credit card processing fee will be added to all online orders.)  Non-owners: save yourself $5 on each box of berries by becoming an owner today.  There are many more benefits to ownership beyond savings on berries.  Becoming an owner is easy through our online store.

Everyone wanting blueberries must pre-order and pre-pay to ensure that we have enough berries.  The easiest way to order is to go to our online store, select the number of boxes you want, and pay online.  If you're not the type to order online, please send us an email at purplecarrotmarket@gmail.com with "Blueberries" in the subject line and we will arrange payment with you.

Enjoy the taste of summer with fresh berries!
