The Purple Carrot Market is inviting people of all ages to join us in creating a fun community art project taking place at the Little Falls Farmer's Market on Saturday, September 16 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Everyone can appreciate the beauty of a bountiful garden, and each garden is as unique as the gardener that tends it. A local and talented artist, Trista Rakow Gallery, is creating original artwork depicting the theme: "What does your garden look like?" Her artwork will be transferred onto a large canvas that will be painted by you, our community members and co-op owners! We are excited to welcome neighbors from all backgrounds to help create a colorful mural depicting a diverse variety of foods that will include Ojibwe and Spanish languages in the design. The Purple Carrot Market is joining more than 400 communities around the nation in celebrating Welcoming Week, September 8-17, thanks to a $500 scholarship from Region Five Development Commission. Organized by Welcoming America, Welcoming Week celebrations are meant to build strong communities and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places in achieving collective prosperity. We hope to see you there! Comments are closed.
